CHICAGO (Jan. 3, 2017) – Glenview, Ill.-based homebuilder Edward R. James Companies announced it received seven Gold Key Awards from the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chicago (HBAGC) for two of its communities. Brighton Mews, a 29-unit townhome community in Park Ridge, Ill., was awarded two Gold Key Awards in the Townhome and Duplex category for Excellence in Architectural Design and Excellence in New Construction, and one for Excellence in Community Design in the category of Landscape Design. Westgate at The Glen, a 171-unit community in Glenview, Ill., earned three Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Architectural Design in the categories of Single Family, Rowhome and Townhome, as well as one for Excellence in Community Design in the category of Land Planning.
“We are honored that Brighton Mews and Westgate at The Glen have been recognized for the same thoughtful planning and meticulous attention to detail that we’ve brought to each of our communities during the past 60 years,” said Jerry S. James, president of Edward R. James Companies. “Receiving these awards from the HBAGC is further testament to our ability to deliver exceptional lifestyles in extraordinary North Shore locations.”
Brighton Mews is a maintenance-free townhome community located just 14 miles north of Chicago in the heart of Park Ridge, and currently has only one unit remaining for sale. As a walkable community, it is in proximity to the nostalgic Pickwick Theater, the restaurants and Shoppes of Uptown, the Metra train station and Whole Foods. The remaining townhome features three bedrooms, 2½ baths, a two-car garage, and a large flex room in the lower level that is ideal for entertaining. The main level features nine-foot ceilings, spacious separate dining and living rooms, a large eat-in kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, as well as a den and private outdoor deck.
Westgate at The Glen is a maintenance-free community that represents the final residential parcel within The Glen, a 1,100-acre mixed-use development on the site of the former Glenview Naval Air Station. The community features walking paths, pocket parks and a pond, and is near The Glen Town Center’s shops and restaurants, Kohl’s Children’s Museum, two golf courses and the Metra train station. Westgate at The Glen offers cluster single-family homes, rowhomes and mews townhomes, all of which feature three bedrooms and 2½ baths, as well as a two-car attached garage, private outdoor spaces and luxury interior finishes. Both the cluster single-family homes and rowhomes offer a first-floor master suite. Only three cluster single-family homes, 10 rowhomes and two townhomes are still available.
“As these awards illustrate, each of the three housing types at Westgate at The Glen are winners for buyers looking for an exceptional living experience,” said James. “And because the community is more than 90 percent sold, buyers should act fast to take advantage of this rare opportunity.”
With the Brighton Mews and Westgate at The Glen communities winding down, Edward R. James Companies has set its sights on another sought-after North Shore location. The firm recently commenced construction on Anets Woods, a community of 32 single-family homes located on a wooded 16-acre site in Northbrook, Ill. “We define our legacy by finding the best locations while delivering quality construction and a maintenance-free lifestyle, and receiving these HBAGC awards speaks volumes to that commitment,” said James.
