Fifteen years after purchasing 24.5 acres at 55th Street and County Line Road, Edward R. James Companies is expected to gain approval for its Hinsdale Meadows empty-nester housing development Dec. 11.
“This is the last stage for what is a long process for approval of a planned unit development,” Trustee Luke Stifflear, chairman of zoning and public safety, said at the Nov. 21 Hinsdale Village Board meeting during a first read of the project’s detailed plan, redevelopment agreement and plat of subdivision.
The developer plans to build 64 age-targeted homes on the site, a combination of 22 single-family homes and 42 duplexes.
Trustees spent much of their time discussing several waivers the developer is requesting for the project.
